of cars, kids and DVD players...

Want to know the scariest thing to happen on a 9 hour car ride (other than the car breaking down)? It is powering up the DVD player withing the first hour and realizing the damn thing no longer works!!! Which then leads you to calling your mother to find the closest Target on your travels in order to buy your soon-to-be screaming toddler a new DVD player. Because truthfully, it is easier on the ears to listen to the same Barney video 5 times than 8 hours of screaming toddler.

The above was my life today. And it made me realize how much I need modern technology - such as portable DVD players, cell phones, and internet service (which Mom was using to find said Target store).

I also appreciate drugs that make a nervous/anxious husky mellow enough not to pace my car - and get on my nerves.

Other news...Remmie is going to spend the summer with the parents. The working theory on this is to see if he can become stronger. The other working theory is that if it is his time - then I want to spare Anna the knowledge that Remmie isn't dying. She has experienced enough loss in her young life to have to watch a beloved friend suffer. Remmie is actually taking the separation better than any of us expected and has firmly attached himself to Papa.

Nothing else of interest...but would like to know how many of you would have detoured to Target (or any other store) to purchase a DVD player like we did this morning.
