Happy 3rd Birthday, Anna!!

Anna turned 3 today and we began celebrating bright and early at 6 this morning. She woke up and stated that it was her birthday and then asked for her presents. The girl has her priorities in place.

The first thing she saw when she walked into the formal living room (which is actually a playroom in our world) was her new princess castle, which magically (ha ha) appeared over night. And by magically, I mean after about 40 minutes of labor on my part. But it was all worth it, because the castle is a hit with Anna (and the cats, who are laying siege to claim the castle as theirs.

The birthday celebration continued at school, at which she had birthday cake and punch (well, Hawaiian punch - red for the birthday girl).

After being woken several times in the middle of the night to hear "he's biting me", it was decided that the kitten (who thought Anna was a kitten/playmate and was trying to wake her up) needed a friend. So, on the advice of Scott (office IT guy - and scary smart, ultra marathon runner) we adopted Seraphina (pictured below). Scott and his wife fostered Seraphina from the Mid-Missouri Humane Society and knew her personality. She is working out great and loves to cuddle - I have even caught her sleeping with the kiddo. Mushu has ceased his midnight wake-up calls for Anna.

Mushu is also working out to be a great kitten. Anna loves to pick him up, and usually he just goes with the flow - as seen below.



Mushu is also rather curious. He was enthralled with bath time the other night, and hopped up on a step stool to get a better view of Anna's bathtub antics.

Good news on a Saturday...

I was reading my e-mail when the following popped up...

We have just received wonderful news!! LWB has won the Smart Cookie Award
through Cookie magazine....including the generous grand prize of $35,000 to be
used to help heal children in our medical program. We couldn’t have won this
without all your help voting and spreading the word. LWB has the absolute best
supporters!!!
Amy and Love Without Boundaries will be presented the Cookie’s
Readers’ Choice award and prize by Citi on April 20th in New York City during a
luncheon and gala. She will also be featured in the May issue of Cookie
magazine.
So many children’s lives will be now changed with this money. Baby
Tai will soon be able to have his bladder extrophy surgery, the first of many
children who will benefit and be healed. . None of this would have been possible
without you, so THANK YOU a thousand times over for joining with us to help
these wonderful kids.
When we work together, we can truly change lives, one
child at a time.
