Here are the interior pictures to the house we looked at today. The house needs some updating, but I like the layout. Here are the negatives...

1) on a crawl space, not a basement. Also, we took a look into the crawl space, which had some water, so that would need to be fixed.
2) the kitchen is very dated with green cabinets, tiled counter tops (the tiles had some flowery motif), and the flooring needs to be replaced.
3) the full bath in the hallway has only a tub, so bathroom re-do necessary to make it at least a shower/tub combo. Also, the wallpaper in that bathroom needs to go.
4) former owners had pet(s) that weren't all that house trained. Carpet (which is stained/discolored from more than pets) needs to be ripped up and replaced.
5) double ovens are almost older than the parents (ok, they are original and the house was built in the late 1950s)
6) major tree trimming needs to happen outside. The trees are large and healthy, but I am not a fan of large limbs hanging over roofs or power lines.
7) gutters needs a really good cleaning
8) bathroom attached to master needs help of some kind.

Positives -

1) very open concept with large kitchen family room combo
2) very nice fireplace
3) fenced yard with large patio and planting areas already defined for flowers
4) good neighborhood
5) two car garage
6) casement windows, that are in good condition and wouldn't need replacing
7) cedar closet for storage
8) pantry
9) laundry room
10) ceiling fans in all bedroom - which are ugly and need replacement, but at least I know they can be replaced.
11) neat, working built in drawers in second and third bedrooms
12) two large closets in master bedroom.
13) hardwood floors in the bedrooms

Second bedroom - notice ceiling fan. Also had good sized closet and built-in drawers.
Built-in drawers in 3rd bedroom. Closet needs a paint job.

Full bathroom with only a tub. Wallpaper would need to go.

Full bathroom attached to the master bedroom. Would need gutting.

Fireplace in the living room

Looking for dining room area through living room to entry.
closet in the master bedroom
same closet as above, but opened. I thought it was unique closet organization

looking from kitchen to family room area
kitchen - green cabinets either need to go or be painted. But counter tops need to go!!
ovens would need to be replaced - they are almost older than the parents.
sliding door to backyard. Door is actually in good shape and can stay.
looking through the living room to the dining room. Not crazy about the ceiling beams, but not something that need to be change immediately or at all.
