Weekends in Jeff City...

As I have implied before - there isn't really all that much to do in Jeff City (when compared with Indianapolis and its Children's Museum, zoo, and other areas for exploration). So, Anna and I have been working on activities that are fun and inexpensive - it's not like Congress is going to give us a $700 billion bailout.

Friday night we baked brownies. This was Anna's first foray into baking and it went rather well. Next weekend we are going to try to tackle shortbread cookies, which I haven't made in forever, and muffins. Of course, Anna is learning that one of the best things about baking is the batter. At first, she was hesitant to try the brownie mix, but as you can see, she got the hang of it rather quickly.










We have found this great park only a couple of miles from the house. It hasn't been overrun with kids the last couple of weekends that we have gone. It also has some relatively flat trail areas for Anna to ride her tricycle, which she is mastering - she has pedaling down along with steering. The first two pictures are from last weekend and the last three are from yesterday.

And yes, she is wearing the same styled t-shirt from Friday night's baking session. But it is not the same t-shirt. She has two t-shirts in this design, so she wore one on Friday night and another on Saturday.







We are making headway in the unpacking areana. I am down to less than ten boxes.
