I am already being invited to meetings for the new job, which doesn't start for another 5.5 weeks. Today my team leader e-mailed me asking my availability late October/early November for a meeting with the state DOT. I told I really didn't have that much on my calendar yet and I could make the meeting.
Then I received an e-mail asking me how I want my name on the new business cards (I opted for the J.D. behind the name - hey, I earned it!) and how many I wanted to order. It normally takes working for my current DOT about 4-5 months before someone gets around to asking you if you want business cards.
I also chatted with the relocation company today and have another phone conference with them tomorrow.
Things are just moving along.
