St. Patrick's Day..

XinXin hasn't grasped the concept of getting pinched for not wearing green on St. Patrick's Day - but I will be sure that there is at least a little green in her outfit. What she has started to due was relate toys and candy with holidays. Think about it - Christmas = toys, Halloween = candy, Easter = big chocolate bunnies, Valentine's Day = candy (and hearts), St. Patrick's Day = ?? (well, green beer, but there won't be any of that in our house).

Here is our conversation on St. Patrick's Day:

XinXin (hopeful tone): "Mommy, do we get toys for St. Patrick's Day?"
Me: "No"
XinXin (questioning tone): "Why not?"
Me: "That is how it is."
XinXin (hopeful tone - again): "Do we get candy?"
Me: "No"
XinXin (disgusted tone): "What do we get?"
Me: "Pinched if you don't where green."

So, she isn't all that thrilled with St. Patrick's Day. Hmmm, we'll have to check back in about 17 years ;).
